I just finished an amazing book called "Little Bee" by Chris Cleave! It was a really good book that made me really sad, but yet very happy. The back of the book said you will want to tell people about it once you read it, and I do! It also says not to tell them what it's about, so I won't. I listen to book covers, yup! :) Anyways... some quotes I enjoyed from it are:
If your face is swollen from the severe beatings of life, smile and pretend to be a fat man. --Nigerian proverb
"Everything was happiness and singing when I was a little girl. There was plenty of time for it. We did not have to hurry. We did not have electricity or fresh water or sadness either, because none of these had been connected to our village yet."
"We must see all scars as beauty. Okay? This will be our secret. Because take it from me, a scar does not form on the dying. A scar means, 'I survived'."
"Sad words are just another beauty. A sad story means, this storyteller is alive. The next thing you know something fine will happen to her, something marvelous, and then she will turn around and smile."
